The PNW Yarn Crawl 2025 – Four Days of Fiber Fun!

If you are looking for the perfect opportunity to head out and explore some of the best yarns stores that the Puget Sound region has to offer, why not make an event of it and take part in the PNW Yarn Crawl that begins later this week? Eleven stores located across the south sound and Peninsula, join together once a year to create this fun filled event for fiber lovers.
The PNW Yarn Crawl launched in 20215. Amanda from Amanda’s Art Yarn in Poulsbo, one of the original founders of the crawl explains, “We wanted to provide a fun way for people to discover their local yarn shops, with an emphasis on “fun.” Each year we decide on a “theme” that the participating shops can plan around. Past themes have included books, movies, pirates (yaarrrrn maties!), travel, and Washington State Parks. This year’s theme is Yarnopoly, loosely based on the infamous board game. This allows us to go crazy decorating our shops.”

Visit any of this year’s eleven yarn stores between Thursday May 1st to Sunday May 4th and you will receive a free crochet and knitting pattern (10% discount on featured yarn), and have the opportunity to collect a series of stitch markers designed specifically for the tour. Be sure to enter each store’s daily drawing – all of the yarn crawl shops will be giving away a $35 gift certificate each day. Remember to print out a passport from the PNW Yarn Crawl website and have it stamped in each store you visit. “Finishers” who visit every store will be entered in to a grand prize drawing with chance to win one of ten $100 gift certificates.
As well as bringing the Puget Sound fiber community together, the PNW Yarn Crawl also has a focus on the wider community. An important aspect of this year’s event is the “Community Chest” or foodbank drive that will take place in each store. Crawl participants are invited to donate non-perishable food or selfcare items when they visit each shop. All items will be sent to foodbanks local to the stores and as a “thank you”, donors will be given an extra entry to the shop’s daily drawing. The yarn crawl is a great way to discover new favorite yarn stores while seeing the beauty our region has to offer. I asked Amanda what advice she would give to someone doing the PNW Yarn Crawl for the first time:
“I would tell new crawlers to allow plenty of time to visit the shops — not just driving time between shops but also take your time exploring the shops and what they have to offer. There are plenty of opportunities for local sightseeing and local food fun. Remember Poulsbo has the famous Sluys Poulsbo Bakery, well known for their hand-crafted cookies and donuts. Each of our shops can recommend local attractions to see along the way.”
