Hooray for Local Yarn Store Day 2026!

If you haven’t come across this date on the calendar before, local yarn store day is organized by the National Needle Arts Association (TNNA). The first LYS Day took place in 2018 with the aim of highlighting yarn stores across the country, and the important role that they play in their communities. Shops participating in the TNNA event offer exclusive patterns from high profile designers, in store prize drawings and other fun events. You can check out the full map on the Local Yarn Shop Day website to see if your local store is participating. At present there are twelve Washington State stores listed on their interactive map.

However, many other yarn shops that are not joining the TNNA event have adopted LYS Day as a celebration, and you will find a wealth of in-store events taking place across our region throughout the day on Saturday. Keeping an eye on your email inbox and social media over the next few days is highly recommended – there are sure to be lots of discounts, prize drawings, free patterns and other fun activities available that you won’t want to miss.
