All The Fiber Fusion Fun!

The first weekend in June is always blocked out on my calendar for one very special reason – Fiber Fusion Northwest. Now in its 15th year, this wonderful event can legitimately claim to have something for every fiber and yarn enthusiast. Whether you are looking to educate yourself about livestock, pick up a quality fleece to begin your yarn creating journey or buy some of the best locally produced skeins and hand dyes that our region has to offer, you will find a dazzling range of choice at Fiber Fusion.
More than any other festival, Fiber Fusion will take you from sheep (or alpaca, or goat) through to skein. Here’s a Woolpack round up of all that there is to sample and delight in this year:
New Classes for 2026 – Great news if you are looking to learn a new skill, or brush up on an old one – there is still some availability in a few of the classes. Following the success of launching Friday classes in 2024, the Fiber Fusion organizers have created another wonderful schedule of classes across three days. Choose from needle felting, weaving, color work knitting and many more. Check out the class brochure here.
This Year’s Features Breed: Romney – Romneys arrived in North America in 1904 but their history extends way beyond that date. This 700 year old breed originates from the Romney Marshes in Kent, England, and they are recognized as a long wool superstar. Known for their premium quality fleece and high yield, Romneys produce a generous fleece that results in a durable yarn that is beloved by fiber artists all over the world. This year’s Fiber Fusion is your opportunity to get up close to this wonderful breed and meet those who know them best – local shepherds and fiber producers.
Event Chair, Heidi Lucey is always generous with her time, and I was lucky enough to have a quick catch up with her this week to find out what’s new in 2026:
Group Use Tent – For the first time this year Fiber Fusion attendees can book space to meet and gather with their fiber groups in the Group Use Tent. It’s the perfect way to catch up with your fiber buddies and share recommendations, take a moment to work on a project or show off your purchases. The tent is conveniently located next to the food tent, but requires booking via an online sign-up genius.
New Vendors for 2026 – With over 80 vendors at Fiber Fusion you can find new products to fall in love with, and stock up on your old favorites. Fleece, fiber, yarn, tools and equipment – you will find them all! This year you will find many new vendors as well as familiar friendly faces. The Fiber Fusion website has a full list of vendors, so you can plan to visit your “must see” favorites before you go.

Your Fiber Fusion Checklist, or How to Get The Most from a Day at Fiber Fusion NW
Head straight to the welcome desk – As soon as you arrive make your way to the welcome desk where you can pick up an event guide and schedule. Don’t forget to collect your free bag and raffle ticket (prize drawings run throughout the day).
Pick up an event passport – It includes an interactive game to play as you make your way around both fairground buildings, adding to the fun and ensuring you get the most from your visit.
Take a class – Fiber Fusion is known for it’s focus on education. It’s a place to experience new fiber pursuits or refine your existing skills. There are 50+ classes on offer ranging from soap making to spinning with dog fur, and yarn dyeing to weaving. If you fancy learning something new, Fiber Fusion is your perfect opportunity.
Wander at your leisure through the marketplace – With over 80 vendors at Fiber Fusion you can find new products to fall in love with, and stock up on your old favorites. Fleece, fiber, yarn, tools and equipment – you will find them all!
Fiber Fusion is a volunteer run event. Heidi and her team work tirelessly to give our fiber community an opportunity to gather and enjoy every aspect of this world that brings us so much joy. I asked Heidi what she is most looking forward to over the Fiber Fusion weekend:
“I am excited to see our community coming together and making the most of all of the learning opportunities that Fiber Fusion has to offer. You will see so many variations of the fiber arts world across all of the booths and have the chance to see experts working on something they love – be sure to talk to them and ask questions!”
